Antique Diamond and Sapphire Set Bee Brooch
A beautifully crafted antique brooch, modelled in the shape of a bee and encrusted with diamonds and sapphires. This is an intricately made piece of jewellery and it's finely crafted with beautiful details on the face and every section of the body. It comes in it's original fitted box for N. Bloom and Son; an esteemed antique dealers in London established in 1912. Insects are a popular motif in Victorian jewellery; the era’s fascination with nature, coupled with industrial progress of the time and interest in ancient Egypt (where scarab beetles were symbols of good luck), contributed to the trend of insect-inspired jewelry. Bees in particular symbolised hard work, diligence and team work.
