Antique Rose Cut Diamond Love Heart Pendant

The most beautiful antique love heart locket, studded with old rose cut diamonds. The bale is modelled like a flame, adding to the drama of the piece. The locket is set in gold, and it is in working order - it opens to reveal a lined compartment, where traditionally a lock of hair would have been stored, with a glass panel on the reverse. We estimate this piece to be from the early Victorian period. The top of the locket where the stones are set is silver.
