This is such a pretty locket - with a scalloped edge, an engraved design featuring a swallow and floral detail, and ornate bale.

The locket is 3.6cm long, including the bale, and 2.4cm wide

Stamped '9ct front and back'. The term "back and front" refers to a locket which is constructed with a layer of 9ct gold on both the front and back, with a non-gold metal sandwiched in between. 9ct gold back and front lockets are considered more durable than lockets made from solid gold, and was a method of jewellery manufacture popular in the Victorian era through to the early 20th century,
